Pears

Karen alerted me to the beautiful glass ornaments they have at Gump's of San Francisco. I like the pears because of the muted colors, the brushed sheen, and the fact that you could keep them out year round.

Breast Cancer Bouquet

This rose and lily bouquet by Jane Packer is SO cool! I would love to be able to do creative wrap-around things with stems and leaves. The dark eggplant color really accentuates the bright pink of the flowers. I think this particular arrangement is only around for October, though, since proceeds go towards breast cancer research.

Perfect People

I guess we're supposed to believe that no one's perfect, but that's kind of difficult for me when I see someone like Natalie Portman on the cover of Bazaar. She is so extremely elegant and gorgeous, went to Harvard (yes it's ridiculous, but I do admit to having Ivy League envy), AND fits into Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy dress! Seriously. No one's perfect?

I do like wedges...

Yikes, that last post was a little too emo for my tastes. Sorry about that. Anyhoo, I don't usually like platforms, but it's hard to take my eyes off of these Christian Louboutin wedges. I love the deep cranberry color, and how the patent leather looks smooth but not plastic-y. The round toe is also very chic. These would look awesome with some patterned tights.

Sunday

I miss London. I need a "I'd rather be in London" pillow to match my "I'd rather be in Ireland" one. Both are true most of the time.

Candles I Like

Candles can be pretty boring at times, and lord knows there are millions to choose from, so picking out the most aesthetically pleasing ones can be a bit tedious. However, there are some really exquisitely crafted ones out there; you just have to skip on the Yankee store and look a little harder. This one at left is from D.L. & Co. (can be purchased at Satinbox), and although they get a bit pricey, the little satin hatbox they come in is to die for. Yes that's right; I care more about the packaging than the actual wax product. It's happened before and it'll happen again. These candles do smell amazing, though. Ok, on the right is the striped taper from Ana Candles. They come in a wide range of colors (nice muted ones to go well with decor), and are so unique and tailored looking. They would look great in any modern space.

Good dance photography

Good dance photography makes me happy. This dancer creates such a nice line (undoubtedly much easier when you weigh 95 lbs), and I love how the tutu creates sort of a perpendicular plane...it almosts makes this look angular. Black and pink were excellent color choices. And don't ask why I'm blogging at 4:45am.

12 Days of Christmas

Wow, I've been lazy. Anyhoo, just saw the cutest holiday plates EVER! The set is called "12 Days" and it's by Rosanna (of course). I think if I had these I would keep them on the wall year-round. There are quite a few other new sets as well. Colorful and chic, as always.
